Privacy policy
Short version: you can use Postmapia without an account, we run no advertising or analytics trackers, and we keep technical logs for 14 days. The details are below.

Who is responsible
Postmapia (postmapia.com) is responsible for the processing described here. For anything about your data, write to info@postmapia.com.
What we do not collect
There are no user accounts, no sign-up forms, no comments and no newsletter. We do not use Google Analytics or any other analytics service, no advertising networks, no social-media pixels and no tracking cookies.
Server logs (14 days)
Like every website, our server records each request: IP address, date and time, the page requested, the referring page, the browser’s user-agent string and the response code. We use these logs only to keep the site running, to find errors and to fend off abuse such as overload or attacks. They are deleted automatically after 14 days.
The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure, working website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Cloudflare
Postmapia is delivered through Cloudflare, which acts as a content delivery network and protects the site against attacks. Cloudflare therefore processes your IP address and the technical details of each request on our behalf. When its security checks are triggered, Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie. Cloudflare may process data outside the EU; transfers rely on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
Your location
We only ask for your location when you tap a button such as “Nearest to me”, and your browser asks for your permission first. When you sort a list by distance, the calculation happens on your device and the location never leaves it.
The “nearest points” button sends your coordinates once, with that single request, so the server can pick the closest places. They are not saved in any database and not linked to you; like any request, the address line can appear in the server log, which is deleted after 14 days.
Stored on your device
If you choose a light or dark theme, that choice is kept in your browser’s local storage under the key “pa-theme”. It never leaves your device, and you can clear it at any time in your browser settings.
Maps and links to other sites
Map tiles are loaded from OpenFreeMap (tiles.openfreemap.org). To show the map, your browser connects to their servers, which receive your IP address. Fonts and all other files come from our own server.
Links to directions (Google Maps, Apple Maps, OpenStreetMap) and to carriers’ websites take you to services with their own privacy policies.
When you e-mail us
If you write to us, we use your address and message only to reply and, where relevant, to correct the data. We do not add you to any list, and we delete the correspondence once it is settled, at the latest after 12 months.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and to object to processing based on legitimate interest. Because we hold almost nothing that identifies you, in practice this mostly concerns e-mails you sent us and log lines from the last 14 days. Write to us and we will answer within one month.
You may also lodge a complaint with a data-protection supervisory authority, for example the one in the country where you live.
Changes
If we change how we handle data, we update this page and the date below.
